A-TEAM Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
When we began this journey two years ago, we wanted to bring you outstanding wines from all over the world. We also wanted to go straight to the growers, in order to bring you the very best prices possible. This included working with some top domestic winemakers and wineries.

A long time friend & client came to us with a great opportunity. His friend, Benoit Touquette (Fait Main, Hartwell, Realm, Teeter Totter) had three extra barrels of Pritchard Hill Cabernet that he was looking to sell. Of course, we had to taste the wine. We brought it to a dinner of great wine aficionados, and everyone was floored by the quality. (We are talking about Bryant Family, Colgin, Continuum, Ovid, Chappellet, Brand, and David Arthur as a few examples of the wineries on Pritchard Hill.) There are not many, but those that produce 100% Pritchard Hill Cabernet tend to start at $200 & up.

We negotiated the price, gobbled up the two pallets, and next came labeling. What were we going to call our Napa Valley Star Cabernet? As I have mentioned before, this project started out of a dream to carry on a great wine business for our children, Abigail, Andrew & Allison. So, while the website is mywinedeals.com, the name of the business is A-Team Importers. So, why not an A-Team Cabernet? Just take a picture of the children holding a few glasses of wine and throw it on the front label (a similar picture already appears on the back label of our imports). Should be easy, right? Not exactly!

The TTB (the branch of the federal government that handles label approvals for wine bottles…yes, there is such a thing) rejected our label not
once, not twice, but three times! Why? Why would anyone put children on the label of a wine bottle? We explained that these were the proprietor’s children,
and eventually the feds got over it…

What we have here is a limited-production Pritchard Hill Cabernet Sauvignon crafted by one of Napa’s greatest winemakers. The wine saw 2/3 new oak
and 1/3 used oak, for about 18 months. It was then bottled and subsequently labeled earlier this year and arrived in our warehouse in May. Jeb Dunnuck, quickly becoming one of the world’s most important wine critics, recently tasted it & loved it, scoring it 95 points, calling it, “a brilliant wine.”
The best part is that is all ours. We have contracted out to produce our A-Team Cabernet in 2016 (fall arrival), 2017 & 2018, as well.
But this wine is the inaugural vintage of a very important bottling.

The other best part? It is not a $300 Pritchard Hill Cabernet, like many in that region are. It is not even $200… and for a limited time, it is priced less than $100. So buy it, try it: come back for more! Abigail, Andrew & Allison know that you will! Even on day five, this wine is still drinking great…
